and data to operate successfully.
The data component
(measured in Megabytes) is calculated by counting the
number of bytes that travel from the internet to your
computer, this includes files that you may download
eg. pictures, programs etc, as well as pages that you
view on the screen. This page for example is 16k bytes
(0.016Mb). In Australia, all data must be paid for by
the user.
You can create an account and purchase your
subscription and data online by going to the "Manage
your account" link. Additional subscriptions
and data can be purchased at any time by the same link.

Need a wireless device to connect to the service?
Hiring
Some of our participating marinas will hire you a wireless adapter. Please check with the marina office if you wish to use this service.
Purchase
If you wish to purchase an adapter
there are many models available. We are not able to
test them all but some models that we have tested and
that we recommend are the Netgear WG121 and the Linksys
WUSB. Another unit we have tested is the Netgear WG111,
this is the small stick type USB adapter that can plug
directly into the computer, particularly handy if you
are close to the transmitter. We have also tested the
WG111 by putting it into a small external grid antenna
and using a 5 metre extension cable, excellent combination
for longer distances and weak signal strength areas.
