New Wireless clients in stock

Marinanet has recently been trialing a number of new devices
in order to find one suitable for selling to those users looking
to get a connection from a distance, or supply a number of
computers a connection using just one marinanet account.
Look no further as we've found a perfect solution. Called a "NanoStation"
this device allows connections up to and over 2km away (good line of sight and good conditions assumed).
The device comes with a built in mount to allow it to be attached to a
standard antenna pole and is powered using a PoE (Power over Ethernet) adaptor.
This means that you can run the cable back through a waterproof seal into the
boat, connecting the cable up to 1 computer or using a LAN switch to allow
larger boats to be fully data cabled.
The device costs $195 dollars and comes pre-configured to connect up to Marinanet
but can be used with any 2.4ghz 'B' or 'G' wireless networks.
If you'd like to get more information on these devices or order one, please
contact us via the email link at the bottom of this page. Please note that
data cabling is not included in that price and if you need this included you must
specify the length you require.
Warning for USB Adapter users. We have heard of
some users putting their adapters in plastics bags to protect
them from rain and leaving them outside to attempt to get
better reception. This is a good way of cooking the radio
in the adapter, the adapters need to breathe to dissipate
the heat generated by the radio. It is stongly recommended
that the adapter is placed under cover out of the sun, eg.
under the bimini. If you are still having reception problems
then please contact us so we can advise of a more suitable
system for your situation.
The Rivergate
Marina now has the Marinanet service. This is a
new marina with an excellent hard stand and well worth a
visit if you are considering either maintenance or just
cruising the Brisbane River.
